Biden Plans to Shut Down Camp Delta at Guantanamo Bay

While protecting the United States from Islamic Terrorists is vital to the country’s security, the detention facility in Guantanamo Bay has long been a stain on America’s image and human rights record. The reason is that the prison was intentionally created outside the U.S.’s borders under the Bush administration in the aftermath of the September 11th terror attacks in 2001 to detain terror suspects without applying American rules of proper criminal procedure.

Many have argued from the beginning that if the detainees are guilty, they should be tried according to U.S. law and, if convicted, held in a maximum security prison inside the U.S.

U.S. Reaches One Year Without Combat Death in Afghanistan

Thanks to a peace agreement which the Trump administration struck with the Taliban a year ago, there have been zero casualties during the last 12 months. Thus is a first in 20 years.

So far, the Biden administration is honoring the agreement, although some of its members have considered “reevaluating” it, which the Taliban have already stated would mean resumption of the war Trump de facto ended.

Under Trump, Americans Breathed The Cleanest Air in U.S. History

The Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ), which is part of the Executive Office of the President, assembled a report titled “The Trump Administration’s Environmental Accomplishments.” The Biden administration immediately removed this government report from the White House website. However, it is full of good news. Here are a few of the highlights.

DeSantis Proposes Legislation That Will Hold Big Tech Accountable

As Censorship Widens, Some Recent Supporters Are Changing Their Mind

Alternative media with conservative leanings were the first to be deplatformed from major big tech companies’ services such as YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and iTunes. Libertarians and even apolitical individuals such as doctors and scientists who dared to contradict whichever narrative Big Tech supported, were next on the chopping block.

Commentators on the left cheered this trend and called for more censorship, which led to millions of accounts being suspended, apps with millions of users being banned and even the President of the United States being silenced.

However, totalitarian movements never treat their own supporters kindly for long. Increasingly, even left-leaning individuals now get a taste of the medicine they recently prescribed everyone else. This is finally leading some to rediscover the value of freedom of speech.

Case in point: the progressive journalist Jordan Chariton now says that he regrets calling for social media bans after “seeing Silicon Valley’s censorship onslaught.” https://www.rt.com/usa/514563-jordan-chariton-youtube-censorship/
