Number of Projected Covid-19 Deaths in Tennessee Cut by 88%! Senator Roberts Implies Mandatory Stay-At-Home Order Unnecessary

In a Tennessee Star Report radio interview with Michael Patrick Leahy, State Senator Kerry Roberts shared his observations regarding the effects of the mandatory stay-at-home order, signed by Governor Lee last week. Roberts reports that while some large retailers, such as Walmart, benefit from the order, many small businesses were forced to close. He questions whether the government should decide which businesses can survive and which cannot. In light of the now drastically lower projections for the actual impact of the Wuhan-virus on Tennessee, he suggests that Lee’s initial approach of strongly urging Tennesseans to stay at home was more appropriate than the mandatory lockdown we are dealing with now. Roberts has warned from the beginning that “there are people who have built their models on some very incomplete assumptions and they don’t have good denominators. When you look at the data.”
