[Update 2/15/2021]: As of today, Parler is back online. While Apple does not allow iPhone users to install the Parler app and the app is also no longer available on Google’s PlayStore, at least Android users can once again download and install the Parler app directly from Parler’s own website (see link below).
[Update 1/11/2021]: On January 11, Amazon Web Services turned Parler offline. Parler is since looking for a new hosting company to host its social media platform. It currently has a placeholder website at www.parler.com, but no functionality beyond occasional notifications on its quest to return. The download links for the app (see below) are currently not working either.
[Original article]: As part of the Great Purge, big tech companies are currently aggressively removing alternative content and opinion and are banning conservative, libertarian or simply dissenting users.
Twitter just permanently banned the sitting President of the United States from its platform an hour ago. Google just removed the free-speech Twitter-alternative app Parler from its app store, Apple is considering a similar move.
The good news is: the Parler smartphone app is still available for download on Parler’s own website:
