As Suicides Among Students Isolated at Home Explode, Las Vegas Finally Decides to Reopen Schools

While lockdowns may have delayed the time of infection with Sars-CoV2 (aka Covid-19) for many, they have cost countless lives due to an explosion in suicides and caused lasting trauma for many more. After the school district received over 3,100 suicide alerts from students since closing down in March 2020, Las Vegas is among the school districts realizing that humans need real in-person face-to-(uncovered)face interaction to maintain sanity.

“When we started to see the uptick in children taking their lives, we knew it wasn’t just the Covid numbers we need to look at anymore,” said Jesus Jara, the Clark County superintendent.

Hence, in order to save lives, schools need to reopen. Clark County, Nevada now decided to do just that, finally providing hope again for thousands of young Americans.
