If enacted, it will remove suppressors, short-barrelled rifles, short-barrelled shotguns and so-called “any-other-weapons” (or AOWs), a legal term for various nonconventional firearms, from the $200 tax-stamp requirement of the National Firearms Act (NFA).
The NFA was initially passed to make a variety of firearms unaffordable for ordinary Americans, thus creating a two-tier system: one for wealthy Americans and one for everyone else. If enacted, this act would correct this.
