Defunding, i.e. abolishing, police, has led to an explosion in crime, violence and destruction in several major U.S. cities. When President Trump offered to send in Federal law enforcement to help curtail the violence, Democrat mayors immediately condemned the idea, clarifying that they essentially want no law enforcement at all.
Now that murder rates are through the roof in some places, a few mayors tacitly realize that the situation got out of hand. If they are willing to admit that their approach didn’t work and instead accept help, there may be hope for their cities after all.
