…except on the airwaves and in major city halls. But a look around just outside big cities reveals that the radical left does not represent the majority of America. Their dominance over media, education and entertainment, as well as the governments of large cities, has simply created the impression that they are the only voice in America. This can appear discouraging to moderates, conservatives and libertarians. But the reality is way less sinister than the maoists want us to believe.
Record Number of Americans Buy Guns
As lockdowns have led to food shortages and record unemployment, and riots are met with calls to defund, i.e. abolish, the police, more Americans than ever are developing an appreciation for their constitutional rights. This especially includes the Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms.
Understanding that more crime and less police may require ordinary citizens to protect themselves and their loved ones, more and more Americans are buying a handgun and taking classes to obtain a carry permit. Handgun sales have more than doubled across the country, compared to last year, and according to gun stores, about 40 percent are first time buyers.
This awakening makes gun control a losing platform. As we reported earlier this year, millions of Americans are finally understanding how gun control legislation is hurting them personally while making everyone less safe.
Maybe the increasingly tyrannical power grabs by many politicians, especially during the last four months, will ignite a thirst and demand for freedom we haven’t seen in a long time. Candidates who want to win elections should consider this going forward.
